Background Thaddeus Onovughakpo Origho is a native Iwhrekreka in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State. He attended Majovo Primary School, Ekakpamre from 1976 to 1982 were he obtained the first School Leaving Certificate. He proceeded to Delta Career’s College, Ugboroke Effurun in Delta State for his Secondary education between 1982 to 1987. Between 1990 to 1993, he was at the College of Education, Warri and graduated with Merit. Then between 1999 to 2004, he was at the Delta State University, Abraka and graduated with a Second Class Honours (Lower Division) in Geography and Regional Planning/Education. He was Exempted from the mandatory one year National Youth Service corps (NYSC) programme. Between the year 2006 and 2008, he was at the Delta State University, Abraka for his Masters degree in Geopgraphy and Regional Planning in 2008.Then between 2010 to 2017 he was at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka for his Ph.D in Geography and Meteorology/Agrochmatology which he obtained in 2017. Thaddeus Origho jointed the services of College of Education, Warri in May 1997 as a Clerical Officer and in February 2010 he was given conversion to the post of Lecturer II and rose through the ranks to the position of Chief Lecturer in December 2021. He taught Local Geography, History of Geographic thought, Chmatogy, Biogeography, Fieldwork in Geography, Teaching of Geography (methodology) in both the NCE and Degree programmes of the College. He served as coordinator (Academics) of the Weekend NCE programme of the College between 2013 to 2016. He also served as Head of Department Social Science Education (Delta State University, Abraka Affiliate programme) in 2021. He is now a Lecturer in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Delta, Agbor where he is presently a Senior Lecturer. Dr. Origho has co-authored two books and published articles in both local and international journals and presented papers at both Academic and Professional Conferences. He is a member, Association of Nigeria Geographers (ANG), member, Nigerian Meteorological Society (NMETS), member, Environmental Management Association of Nigeria (EMAN) and member, Political Science Association (NPSA). Thaddeus Origho is happily married with 5 children (2 girls and 3 boys). He enjoys reading, soccer and research.
